My Students

Safety First! We don't have gym and the parking lot is not a safe surface for cheerleading activities.

My students are coming from a high poverty background.

Most students have never taken dance classes or cheered before. These kids are high energy and LOVE being cheerleaders. As a full time science teacher and cheer coach I am trying my best to work in programs for our school. This year we are required to perform on mats due to safety regulations. We need some mats to get us started and keep our squad.

My Project

With this mat we will be allowed to not only keep our squad but practice different stunts on safe surfaces. We would love to take our squad to a state competition and this mat will allow us to practice our routines safely. This will be the first of hopefully a four mat collection.

It is so important for our school to provide these experiences.

Cheerleading is our ONLY school sport/activity for girls. If we lose our squad because we do not have the state required safety equipment then our girls won't have extra-curricular activities.
