This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fifth graders are so excited about the books they are reading that they want everyone to know. By recording their book talks and airing them on the announcements they will be reaching the whole school and sharing what they love about these books and encourage others to read them too.

Our fifth graders are a great group of kids.

Many of them have been at our school since Kindergarten and they have really embraced reading these last few years. They have been actively involved with Reading activities, Book clubs and other programs and want to make sure others are involved too.

My Project

I am requesting a Flip Ultra camera and accessories that students can use to record their book talks and then air on the morning announcements. The Flip camera is small and very user friendly. It will make recording book talks much easier for the students.

This project is important because it is student driven.

These 5th graders want to share their love of reading with the whole school. Younger students look up to the 5th graders and this is an opportunity for them to show how cool and exciting reading it.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
