My Students

Drums provide the heart beat and soul of music. How can music be complete without a heart beat?

Pat Pat a Par...needs to be Rap a Tap Tap, the rhythm of the drums!

My students do not have the advantage of having private music lessons and their only exposure to music is street music, even though our demographics offer a huge array of great music. Their world is so limited and they do not even realize it, so I am trying to open up their world through music!

My Project

My students are able to relate to drumming and the warm tones that they offer. I am able to expose them to a more positive message when they are able to be receptive to the lesson. Drums beats penetrate their outer protective shell and allow them to sink into the joy of making music!

My music class might be the one place in their entire day that they can be a child.

They can leave their burdens behind and just enjoy the music. Please help me turn, Pat Pat a Par into Rap a Tap Tap and get the rhythm of the drums into their lives!
