My Students

We need help! We are trying to keep up with the demands and changes in technology, but never seem to have the financial backing to do this. My students need an LCD projector to incorporate the endless opportunities in mathematics that are on the Internet.

Unfortunately, with 42% of our school population receiving free and reduced lunch, the biggest obstacle I face as a math teacher is having enough supplies to meet the needs of the curriculum.

I want to provide the best education experience possible for my students. In order to do this, I need to make sure the most updated technology is at their fingertips. If this challenge is met, then I will feel assured that my students will be ready to enter the workplace of the 21st century.

My Project

Currently, our budget does not allow me the opportunity to purchase an LCD projector to use in my classroom. Through an MLTI grant, all 8th grade students are issued laptops to use for the year. In order to integrate this technology and mathematics, I need to use an LCD projector to demonstrate the endless programs at our fingertips. Students will also be able to share projects created on their laptops with fellow classmates by displaying their final product on an LCD projector. Can you imagine the confidence and success that these children would feel when standing in front of a classroom demonstrating a mathematics concept with the assistance of an LCD projector.

Who doesn't use some sort of technology in their world today.

You can't enter the workforce without having technology exposure. Multimedia presentations are the hallmark of today's education. Don't all students deserve the opportunity to experience this. Be the one who gives my students that chance. Your contribution will be essential in allowing my students to experience the technological education they should receive in the 21st century.
