My Students

Connect our classroom with the world! In order to meet our national standards, my students need to communicate with native French speakers!

My students attend an inner-city magnet school and take French for one semester.

They work incredibly hard during the school year to meet the goals that I set for them. One goal, however, we have a difficult time achieving. We need to connect with different communities that speak French.

My Project

In order to achieve this goal, we need 5 Netbooks. With these Netbooks, we will be able to use Skype to talk with native French speakers. My students will be able to compose email messages and maintain relationships with French-speaking pen pals. They would also be able read French newspapers and listen to French radio stations. By participating in these online global communities, my students would also be able to learn valuable lessons in what it means to be both a digital citizen and a global citizen.

My children need these computers in order to achieve the highest levels of academic excellence possible.

Not only would the Netbooks allow us to finally meet our national standards, but they would also help my children develop into respectful citizens for the future!
