My Students

How many times has your boss told you to do something with your co-workers and expected you to pay all of the expenses yourself? Never? Well ... it happens to teachers almost every day.

I work at a school where the students come from very low-income homes.

They don't have the supplies that they need to be prepared for school on a daily basis. They want to achieve and they do their best at school. It's just twice as hard, because they don't have the stuff.

My Project

My students need 17 packages of post-it notes, and 9 packages of post-it flags. My district has adopted a new reading and writing series. It allows children to work independently and learn at their own pace. There is one major requirement to this program that I can't seem to afford. The students need lots and lots of post-it notes. They need them to mark their pages, flag interesting parts of their book, and to write down ideas while they read.

I need your help in order to provide my students with these materials.

It seems silly to ask for something that seems trivial, but these post-it notes are a vital part of the reading program. I would appreciate any help I can get.
