This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from all over the world and need a chance to read about stories from around the world and share their own stories with the world.

We are a great school with fun and energetic kids that given the opportunity can reach great potential.

Our students come from a very diverse background each with a unique perspective. Staying up to date on current events in also important to our students as they live near Washington DC.

My Project

My students need blank writing books to create their own stories and a subscription to Time for Kids and Weekly Reader to start off the school year reading and writing. These amazing kids come to school with a wealth of experiences and I'd like them to share those experiences by writing their own book. While we are writing our own books, we will be learning and reading about other people's experiences throughout our world.

This project starts the year off by showing students that their story is important and they are authors.

This project also allows them to read about current events and other stories throughout the year. Who knows, maybe one of these students will be the next best selling author!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
