My Students

Our school has adopted a new math series that we are very excited about! However, because of budget cuts, we were unable to purchase many of the recommended manipulatives needed to maximize learning!

My school consists of a very diverse population of students.

A large percentage of them receive free and reduced lunches and do not get a lot of support from home. With any group of students, especially a high-need group, it is important to vary instruction and use hands-on materials. Math manipulatives will help my students develop a deeper understanding of many math concepts.

My Project

Our school was fortunate to have adopted an amazing new math series that we are starting this school year. However, because of budget cuts, we were unable to purchase many supplies needed to teach the curriculum the way it was intended. The strengths of the series include diverse lessons, hands-on activities, and appealing games. I am requesting materials that will support the new series and the student's learning. With these supplies students will be able to learn while "doing". Rather than simply watching a math lesson, students will actually learn by creating, experiencing, and playing during math time.

It is my hope that my students will become lifelong lovers and learners of math!
