My Students

With today's students growing up with technology all around them, students, especially those with special needs, need more to motivate them to learn, both visually and interactively.

My students are middle school aged special needs students.

Most have had a difficult time in school up to this point, and often feel as though they cannot learn. Two years ago, our school had a failed levy which resulted in a loss of special classes such as Home Economics and Wood shop, two classes that were often filled with students who had difficulties in their academic classes. With this loss, my students would often mention how the district did not care about them, resulting in unmotivated students. Couple this with a student who has a learning disability, and you have a very long, often unsuccessful school year.

My Project

I am requesting a document camera for my special education math and language arts resource room.. This real world application is the key for special education student's success.

This project is important to me because I want to give my students every possible opportunity to learn.

Motivation is the key to success in the classroom. What better way to motivate students who feel like no one cares, then to give them a cool piece of technology that helps them learn.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
