My students need 26 kick off football tees to compete in the National NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition in September.

My Students

I am entering my third year of teaching physical education at a high needs school. I have been able to introduce many new sports to the students. I still do not have a budget to purchase replacement equipment.

The school is in an urban area in which 72% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

Since the introduction of volleyball, many children have learned a great deal. I have also been able to encourage other teachers in the school to participate.

My Project

In order for my students to experience the excitement of competition and sportsmanship, we need kickoff tees. Last year the generous donors provided 35 footballs. It will make it possible for the students to develop athletic, cooperative learning skills and the fun of competing in a National event that has been going on for over 50 years. As always, it will help build the students self-confidence, and provide an alternative to gangs and violence after school.

The full funding of this project will foster an opportunity to the community to establish a recreational programs for all the children long after I am gone.

We will be able to compete and possibly host the event in the future. This is especially important since there are no punt, pass, and kick competitions in the city of Chicago.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
