My Students

Have you ever seen yourself on television? Do you remember the excitement you had watching yourself in a moving picture. Our world is in motion. Children are used to seeing everything in motion - television, movies, and video games. I want my students to be able to put themselves in video.

Our students are from a small school district in a rural area.

We are a small elementary campus that has only second and third grades. Our campus is one of the oldest buildings in the district with limited resources available. Our students come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds.

My Project

Our school is going to integrate video announcements into our daily routines. We need a video camera that can enable the students to take video and easily upload it to these digital announcements and for other learning projects. Flip cameras are easy to use and student friendly. I want my students to be able to make video book reviews, video themselves reading their own writing, and document science observations and explorations.

This project is important to my students.

I want them to be excited about seeing themselves on the big screen. I want them to become more apart of their own learning and to cooperatively help each other learn. I want my students to be 21st century learners.
