Have you ever wanted to be in a class that wasn't totally book reading? I need to have some hands-on activities for my students to learn about different science subjects.
I have the honor of teaching a fabulous bunch of third-graders.
We are a title one school with a lot of varying needs. The children in my classroom are so special! Some of these children have experienced more negative events in their young lives than anyone should experience in a lifetime.
Many of the students do not know that science can be fun and interesting. I want to show them how science should be.
My Project
We need some gears and balls to experiment and learn about force and motion. I also am asking for 2 books to help me get some new ideas to share with the students.
A styrofoam ball and a craft stick makes a perfect model of the moon. It is also easy to give every student a model to hold in their hands.
Your help with our project will make the difference in a lot of little lives.
It will help to empower them not only with the use of the new equipment, but more importantly, with the knowledge that the world cares about them!
