This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students deserve top notch education and I will give them that everyday. My students face tough years in this economic environment where college education is everything and my students are dropping out at 50% rates. I work everyday against that reality.

My students live in the inner city where it can be pretty rough at times.

Half my students have a family member that has been shot or in jail. It's typical and common. My students have a strong bond with family and community and nationality but lack a cohesiveness to struggle against poverty, drugs, and a lack of education. My students also love music, sports, dancing, and having fun.

My Project

By having this new projector I will be able to connect my students with the world. Through the connection on my computer and the Internet I plan to show the students the world. I need a good presentation though in order to make it more meaningful. I have created units using Keynote (Apple presentation Software) and I need a projector to display them. The units consists of slides documenting entire units, such as, World War I and II, the Gulf War, The 1960's, and Political Cartoons. These units make my social studies class rock and by presenting them with a nice projector I can really get the attention and appreciation of my students.

This project is important because it will revolutionize my classroom and the way my students receive their education.

The kids love it, want it, and demand it. As a teacher once you use a projector and create your curriculum with a projector it becomes impossible to go back to the old style teaching.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
