My Students

School should be a place where students can have a level playing field and access to technology necessary to be successful.

I teach English at a fine arts high school.

My students are extremely creative and thrive on instruction that touches them artistically. Most of them are visual learners and enjoy hands-on, interactive activities that help them bring the language arts to life. Supplies are very limited and my students don't always have access to technology like a computer and printer on regular basis. There are just not enough to go around! And, with our recent financial crisis, our budget has been cut again and again. Our school is now charging students for printing their homework. We are no longer able to provide our excellent students with the materials and resources they need to continue to succeed.

My Project

By having a laptop computer and printer in the classroom, my students can do the necessary work for not only my class but other classes. Students can do research on the Internet, type homework assignments and papers, create PowerPoint presentations for projects, and print their work free of charge. Access to a computer will also help them develop computer skills that will help prepare them for college.

Please help my students have a fair chance to be successful in school by giving them access to a computer and printer.

Allow them to do their homework without penalty. Let learning be free.
