My Students

Technology is what this world is currently about. Help my students become computer literate by providing materials that will get them on the computers. Not only will it help them in the world of technology but it will help them become independent learners.

My classroom is one of two five-year-old classrooms in our school.

The school is made up of surrounding communities. We have the elementary and high school in one town and the Jr. High school in a town seven miles away. Most of the students get to school by bus. Many of those students are on the bus for 45 minutes in the morning and then again at night. The students are happy, energetic 5 and 6 year-olds. They are excited about learning.

My Project

By providing some computer software for my class my students can become computer literate, they can increase their pre-reading and pre-math skills, and they can learn to be independent learners. My hope is to use the computer software to set up a computer center in our classroom. We presently have two working computers for my class. We do need some up-to-date programs that will engage my students. I believe that the listed programs can do that.

Some day you may need a technology person to help you with your computer.

Who do you think that will be? Yes, it will be the children that are presently attending school. With your help I can get the children on the computers. The more they use them the more comfortable they will be at the computer. Creating computer literate students will someday provide us with computer technicians.
