My Students

Have you ever tried locating a needle in a haystack? Sometimes I feel that this is how my students feel when they are trying to find just the right book in our book bins.

My students are an amazing group of 2nd graders!

Over 90% of the students in my school are on free and reduced lunch. My students love to read and get so excited when it is "book shopping" time. Each week they start off by trading in the books at their seat with another set of 5. They love getting the chance to go through the books and choose their weekly books. Unfortunately, our books have taken over and we are running out of storage space for them.

My Project

I am asking for cloth storage bins to house the classroom library. These bins will allow me to organize the books into styles, making it easier for the students to find the type of books that they enjoy reading. The students will be able to quickly find their books instead of wasting their valuable reading time searching for just the right book!

It is so hard to get students to the point where they enjoy reading.

By having these bins, I will be able to organize the books so that the students will be able to find the books that they are interested in, much quicker and more easily. Thank you for considering my proposal.
