My Students

We love to look at History through Art! The problem is Technology has left the Art departments in the dust! We need a big screen and LCD projector or Smart Board so we can research artists, art history, and art museums. Our goal is to create a piece of art for every important time period.

We are a school in a low income area that was flooded in 2008.

We reopened in 2010 on a minimal budget. We are kids who love our school and neighborhood, and we love to learn and don't want to be left behind because we can't afford to buy or replace equipment! We are kids who stand up and applaud when we see fabulous art that inspires us! We are kids who LOVE to Create. We love to express ourselves in many different ways. We are Iowa born, which means we are smart and strong and we know how to get things done. We integrate our skills in all areas of learning. We are your future leaders.

My Project

My students need an LCD proj./and monitor so everyone can see the screen when we look at videos, online museums, and photos. We love to look at ART! Having a large monitor, an LCD projector or a Smart Board will allow the whole student population see Art, architecture, museums, and art collections from all over the world. If we had the technology, we could take virtual tours of the Pyramids, or go to the Chicago Art Institute to see Our very own Grant Wood's "American Gothic"! We could use Discovery Streaming to learn about Artists lives and works, or we could photograph and look at our own art on the BIG SCREEN!

Thumbing through old posters does not capture our interest like seeing a giant digital image on the wall.

We could interact with art pieces through technology if we had it. Without these things we only skim the surface of learning.
