Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Providing preschool special needs students with the building blocks for success that build oral language through natural engagement and excitement is the most rewarding way to start each day.

The 25 children in my preschool special needs class face linguistic and social challenges daily.

One of the most essential parts of the program is designed to focus on early childhood skills and concepts in inviting and playful ways. The age appropriate, hands-on activities that I requested will inspire linguistic and non-linguistic social interaction. The activities will provide hours of fun and creative ideas for teaching basic concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes, colors and counting.

My Project

Once introduced to activities, children will be encouraged to continue exploration independently and with peers with teacher guidance rather than direct instruction. These activities will allow the children to explore basic concepts in ways that are fun, meaningful and fulfilling to each student.

Mixing important skills into enticing activities throughout the day is a fun way to build not only language and social skills, but also self-confidence in the school environment, as well.
