Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a super fifth grade class. They are hard working students. I have high expectations and dreams for my students to be successful. This donation will help them to achieve their math standards through the use of a handheld challenging interactive game.

Our school serves a low income community where the majority of the students are on free and reduced breakfast and lunch.

My students are extremely dedicated to school and want to learn. They are excited to come to school every day and learn new things. Many are bringing home the knowledge they learn in class and are becoming the teachers at home. I expect great things from my students and have high expectations. This math game will help families work together to further their math skills and their academic success in reaching their math standards.

My Project

I have one mathshark currently and my students love the hands on game. The mathshark not only works to improve adding, subtracting, multiplication and division facts but it also helps them to challenge their brains with fractions. By adding nine more math sharks to my class, I could allow the students to take them home on a rotating basis. The students would be able to practice on their own and along with their families.

This project is extremely important as I can send the hand held math challenge game home with the students to practice their facts.

They have instant feedback on how they are doing. It also has a variety of levels that the students could challenge themselves with. This math game will help them to improve their math skills.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
