My Students

My students and I have had a great deal of success thanks to wonderful people like you. Through DonorsChoose.org we have had two computers and a color printer donated to our classroom. This has increased our technology capabilities by 200%! Our classroom has now become a tech-magnet in the school.

This year my students got turned on to creating their own short films.

We used some camera equipment (donated through DonorsChoose) and our classroom computers to create a variety of projects. We created films that helped to expand and explain our knowledge of visual devices and literary devices. We had so much success with our newly found film making skills that we even hosted our own Film Festival and made an end of the year DVD!

My Project

Unfortunately, I took the laptop home to burn copies of our DVD over the weekend. While doing this my home was broken into and the laptop was stolen! Since I had it at home it falls under my homeowners insurance, and the deductible is such that the cost of the laptop will not be covered. Luckily it was the last week of school so the use of technology we had become accustomed to was not missed. However, I am hoping to start the new school year with a replacement computer. The laptop being requested is identical to the one we came to know and love last year.

I have seen first-hand the power of having technology at student's fingertips.

The few months we had the laptop in our room were some of the most productive of the year. Please help me start the new year off with the same capabilities we previously ended with.
