Things did not go as planned, but, I'd say, the results ended up better than expected! \r\n\r\nPhase 1: Order Issues!\r\nAmazon was not able to fulfill our order for \"Cuando era puertorriqueña,\" which meant I had to think of a plan B. I mentioned the issue to our instructional coach, who had an innovative idea in mind...\r\n\r\nPhase 2: Support other classrooms!\r\n...As it turns out, two of our new English language arts teachers were looking for support for their classroom novel project, which involved book sets for the 4-star novel \"City of Ember\" (Check out the CommonSense Media review.) With your funding, we were able to purchase 70+ copies of this text for two ELA teachers. \r\n\r\nPhase 3: Add to our classroom library \r\nThanks to your generous donations, there was more that we could do. We purchased a collection of new Spanish language books for our classroom library, none of which have stayed on my loaner table long! These novels support kids' independent reading time, which they complete at home 3 nights per week. \r\n\r\nPhase 4: Support creative writing\r\nLastly, your donation also supported the purchase of 30 composition notebooks for students, which are used 2x/week for vocabulary building and creative writing activities. So far, students have journaled about big life changes and what they would do if they were granted three wishes.\r\n\r\nAll in all, we've been able to make your donations go far, so thank you! And I am still committed to reading \"Cuando era Puertorriqueña\" with my students, but we will simply have to look for an additional source of funding. \r\n\r\nCon gratitud,","fullyFundedDate":1754643257379,"projectUrl":"project/50-copies-of-esmeralda-santiagos-engagi/9521621/","projectTitle":"50 Copies of Esmeralda Santiago's Engaging Memoir for Class Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Good","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7788604_orig.jpg?crop=2000,2000,x980,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615562774650","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7788604"},{"teacherId":303486,"projectId":9581347,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for everyone's continued support of the projects that I post.
