Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please help us keep teens off the streets by donating so that we can give students nutritious snacks for staying after school for tutoring!

They are high school students that live in an urban community with high crime, poverty and gangs.

The races include 60% African American, 30% Hispanic and 10% Caucasian. These students rank in the 50th percentile and lower on Standardized tests. They are not very motivated to learn because of the multiple community issues they deal with on an everyday basis.

My Project

When students stay after school for extra help with their work, they will strengthen their study habits and stay out of trouble. The snacks will serve as a reward for staying after school for help and will also be used for the Movie shown after tutoring. This program will allow students to get one-on-one assistance from their teachers during this time. These activities also teach them how to participate in positive activities with their peers.

By having snacks at the After school activity program, the students will be motivated to attend tutoring and get help with their homework and assignments.

This will lead to better grades and higher test scores. If you support this program, you will be helping to improve our school. Also, your generosity will be greatly appreciated.
