The scales are portable and so students are able to use the scale anywhere in the room. We are also able to do way more labs and simple labs that help us do more hands-on and less paper based labs. \r\n\r\nThe stirrers are also helpful to speeding up the lab experiment especially with dissolving. We used them for several experiments across all classes. It was fantastic to do very simple experiments that show how heat is transferred because we had the digital probes. We could do experiments that were not possible with a standard thermometer like shaking sand to measure thermo energy. \r\n\r\nStudents also loved the simplicity of using the probe with a website that collects and shares the data. It was easy to collect and use with a Chromebook. Our students used the meters to compare against older methods of finding pH with litmus paper. They also performed experiments to determine the accuracy of measurements of common household items, and studies on our plant hydration acidity. \r\n\r\nIt was fantastic for students to use the meters and also see similar problems on the AP and ACT science sections!\r\n\r\nWe will continue to use the pH meters to study how to maintain a clean water supply and ecosystem that may be impacted by pollution.
