Do you remember your favorite subject in Elementary school? I do...I loved math! My students are just the same. They absolutely love math!
Everyday I am charged with the job of igniting the minds of over 20 students who are 8 and 9 years old.
My classroom sees a great deal of diversity due to the military base located nearby. Some of my students were born overseas, while others have never left the city limits. Some of my students have parents with graduate degrees, while others have parents who can't read. The diversity that I see poses many unusual challenges in the classroom. But there is one thing that all of my students have in common...they learn more when they are having FUN!
My Project
My students love math and they love thinking "outside of the box." The math journals and games included in this project will help my students think critically about numbers and many math concepts. These resources challenge them to extend the things they know from simple arithmetic to solve problems requiring the use of all operations and beyond.
With continuing budget cuts, the money available to buy any "extras" is very slim.
My desire is to provide my students with a valuable educational experience, no matter the cost. I need your help in order to achieve that goal.
