Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Give our students the opportunity to see their work in print! Help them grasp and understand how a newspaper is ran.

The students I work with are outstanding individuals.

They come to school prepared to learn, and try their best to achieve our high expectations everyday. Our school is located in a low income area with most students receiving free or reduced lunch. Most of my students have limited resources outside of school, so their only chance to experience enriching activities is at school.

My Project

My mission is to start a student ran school newspaper. The students at my elementary school would love to contribute write for a school newspaper. Students love seeing their words and drawings in print, and to be able to show their work to their friends and family is a big plus. Working on a newspaper staff will allow students to learn valuable lessons about writing, editing, working as a team and being good listeners.

I would be truly grateful for your support in helping our students take part in such a worthwhile activity by creating a school newspaper.

I believe this would be a life changing experience for most of our students.
