My Students

Have you ever been the first to complete something that has not been done for almost 3 decades? My students are getting that opportunity by becoming the first graduating high school class in many years. We need more classroom opportunities for these students then they are currently being offered.

We educate students from 6th grade through 12th grade(staring in the fall).

They are very bright students who attend an self contained, gifted education curriculum school. The students in our high school program are in need of other options for physical education (after their freshman basic physical education credit is completed). We are trying to provide a weight room and fitness area so more class alternatives, such as yoga and weight lifting, may be offered in the near future to enhance their curriculum, as well as their physical and psychological health. The middle school students will also have the opportunity to use the equipment and room as well in order to better prepare for the state fitness testing.

My Project

We are trying to have healthier students. If we get a weight room for our growing school we can then offer more options in class, such a weight lifting and fitness exercise classes, in addition to basic physical education. Students will learn the proper way to lift weights to avoid injuries and how to properly use the muscle mass they have. Discussions will regularly take place about the value of good nutrition, which will correspond with their enhanced physical fitness opportunities.

Our students stay after school with no real purpose.

We are trying to make an area where they can get some exercise, build their muscle mass and overall physical fitness, as well as have a safe environment to accomplish this. Physical fitness is so important. It is even more important to inspire and encourage the students early in their life in order to create the all important good habits to build upon throughout their lives.
