My Students

I am a first grade teacher at a Title One school in a high need community. I love teaching first grade. Watching children learn to read is an awesome experience.

I would like for my students to have individual copies of "Time For Kids" for the 2010-2011 school year.

Many of my students have hard-working single parents who have several financial responsibilities. I do not want to burden them with the pressure to purchase "Time For Kids".

My Project

"Time For Kids" is a fantastic current events magazine designed especially for first graders. "Time For Kids" covers a variety of interesting topics including health, safety, social studies, and science. All topics are covered on a first grade reading level that will enhance my students reading skills. Each issue contains beautiful colorful pictures and exciting activities for the children.

Your help will ensure that my students keep up to date on their current events.

It is exciting for the children to practice reading with topics that they have seen on the news and in their parents' newspapers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
