As the days get warmer and the birds start singing, it gets a little harder each day to settle down with a book. I’d like to reward my students for their efforts with a collection of Jeff Smith’s Bone books.
We read every day in our classroom and my students are crazy about Boneville!
My strong readers and my struggling readers alike dive eagerly into these engaging tales of good and evil. Nothing gets my reluctant readers chuckling like the antics of Phoney and Fone Bone. My students would love to read the entire saga from beginning to end.
My Project
The Bone books help even my most fidgety readers settle quickly into quiet reading. Right now, we have only four volumes of the Bone books. We’d like to fill in the gaps with all ten volumes plus a Bone handbook. An enticing classroom library is an important part of encouraging students to become avid readers, and the Bone books will be an important feature of our classroom collection. These books will keep us reading and learning throughout the year.
Fresh, appealing reading material is so important.
