My Students

Help us build confidence in ourselves! We need books to check out to use at home that we can read!

My students attend first grade at an empowerment school and live in a high poverty area of Nevada.

74.3% of the students at our school receive Free and Reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have a lot, but they love to learn and work cooperatively together.

My Project

These leveled books will help improve my students lives dramatically. Many of my students come from homes where there are no books to read. In order to be successful in reading, my students need to practice reading each night for at least 10 minutes. This is difficult for many of them since they have limited reading materials at home. If my students were able to receive these books, they would have access to more books that are on their level to take home to read each night. Overtime this will help build their confidence in themselves and in their ability to read.

This project is so important because it helps young students feel successful at reading.

Your donation will make a difference in my students lives because they will be able to take home books that are on their level. If the students establish positive study habits early, they can continue to be successful later in life.
