Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing group of 5th grade students this year. They are dedicated to learning and try very hard. I have asked for math games, math materials and interactive Cd's to help my students continue their math knowledge. These materials will help them to meet the math standards.

This donation would be extremely helpful as it would allow my students to continue their math knowledge by being able to play fun and exciting games.

The school I work at is in a low income area, where the majority of the school is on free and reduced lunch. My students are eager to learn and love the area of math. The students would benefit from these math games and activities as they are high interest. My students could play these math games throughout the year to keep up the math knowledge they have learned. These games would also benefit my students beyond the classroom as they could take them home to play with their families. It would be great for students to share their newly acquired knowledge with their families.

My Project

We need two problem solving math games, three interactive CD math games, a coordinate graphing chart, wrap around math game and three different types of dice. These math resources will provide my students with a new way of practicing their math skills. They will be used throughout our math time and can be checked out to use at home. These activities will make practicing math not only fun but interactive. The students will be able to reinforce current math concepts and discover future math connections. This will give them a hands-on active way of exploring math so they can continue to be a lifelong learner. This will challenge them to know their math concepts and to conquer new math skills and standards. My students enjoy math and this will help to keep the joy alive.

This project is important to me because it will help students maintain their math knowledge with a fun activity.

They will be able to share their newly acquired math skills with one another and at home with their families. I hope these activities will inspire them to continue to be successful in math. I also hope by bringing these math games home, it would spark an interest with families to be a part of and encourage their dreams.
