Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a Texas inner city school and are learning to play rock n roll music on instruments donated to them by "Little Kids Rock". Our kids are from families just too poor to afford quality instruments to learn on. Even the music building needs to be replaced.

My music students are mostly the third, fourth and fifth graders.

They are wonderful kids, and they have dreams and desires just like all kids. Mostly Hispanic, they really love music and want to learn to perform and record music just like the "pros". Our school is a Texas inner city school and the school district just does not have the budget to support the needs of the students. My kids are grateful just to have the opportunity to learn to rock and roll.

My Project

My students need recording and rock equipment so they can record and play their musical masterpieces. With this program, they will learn skills and abilities that will take them far in life. Very important skills like setting goals and achieving them. With this rock equipment and gear, they will be able to write their own songs, perform them on quality instruments, and record them in a up to date recording lab. They will actually learn a skill that they will be able to earn a living, perhaps even breaking a cycle of poverty for some to them.

In these days of budget cuts, and financial short falls, it always seems to be the kids who suffer because of the shortcomings of adults.

With the wonderful generosity of the Donors-Choose benefactors, you are giving the next generation the opportunity to achieve something great. Something that we may never see,for an acorn doesn't know its and oak tree until it grows up.
