My Students

Remember the awful multiplication drills? Games would replace the boring drills and make learning fun and exciting.

My students are from low income families.

Their parents are struggling in this economy, and their ability to donate for supplies is extremely limited. This year is my first year of teaching third grade. I have no third grade math games. I know that these students would get motivated and interested in math if they could practice the concepts in a fun way! We have one big, boring workbook! Please help us master our multiplication, division, and fractions with math games and magnetic teaching manipulatives!

My Project

The math games are bright and colorful boardgames that trick the students into learning. Fractions come alive through the Fraction of a Pizza Game and place value is acquired through the Mystery House Game! Division is practiced in the game Division Collision--now that sounds more exciting than timed drills. I can't wait to learn the procedures of each game. They look like lots of fun!

My students deserve more than timed drills that kill the desire to learn and build a strong foundation in mathematics.

Our students need to practice the basics of math in order to become the mathematicians and scientists of our future! Please support these budding mathematicians and scientists.
