My Students

Unlocking creativity in the mind of a child is like walking on the beach and literally stumbling upon a treasure chest. Teachers don't have the keys; they know the LOCATION of the keys.

My students are bright, intelligent, though, at times, somewhat timid creatures in grades 2-6.

They have within them more buried-treasure creativity than you can shake a stick at, and only need me to show them where the keys to the treasure chest are. They're timid because it takes courage to find, show, display, and live out creativity.

My Project

The 'Y-Ball' is a product from the amazingly creative mind of Dr. Roger von Oech. It's a ball made up of 30 small magnetized geometric shapes in the letter 'Y' (I know, surprising) that my squids will take apart and build and re-build to show a doggie, a horsie, a clown, Beethoven's 10th unfinished symphony, and the arming device of a thermonuclear warhead.

These 5 little magnetic manipulative miracles will be Miracle Grow to my squid's brains.

The Y-Ball will be so much fun they won't want me to leave their classroom. The Y-Ball will add nitrous oxide to my already full-speed-ahead 'Creativity Club' project. Please help me get these amazing things!
