Can You Lend An Ear?

My students need a listening center and CD player.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you lend us an ear or 16 of them? That's what it would take to have 8 children reading one on one with an adult. With a listening center, 8 students at a time could enrich their lives by reading along with a tape or CD. Your donation would help more than 40 kindergarten students learn to read.

This kindergarten class is inspirational!

Can you believe they beg to read little sight word readers? So how can we ignore their pleas for more reading materials. Picture 20 five year olds daily asking to read. That is a teacher's dream and this school believes in dreams! Our school is located in California and believes that children should be children and not mini adults. They are taught about patriotism and how to be a good citizen. Most importantly, we want them to experience a love of learning!

My Project

With your donations, our Kindergarteners would receive a listening center that consists of a wooden box with room to store 8 headphone sets, books with CDs and a CD player. Now isn't that easier than lending us your ears? At least our kids think so and I think they are very smart in their assumption! While I am assisting other small groups, a group of eight kids will have the opportunity to read along with the story at our awesome listening center, getting immediate feedback when they say an incorrect word. Not only are they entertained, but educated while listening to the story. If only you could hear the sudden gasp when they see a sight word they know, or realize they can read the whole book. Those are cherished memories that warm my heart and all it took was your ears...I mean your donations. You would be affecting classes of children yet to come through these kindergarten doors. How many would that be in five years...about 200 precious children!

Each and every small donation is impacting young minds at a very critical stage.

Reading is a key to the future. Once they learn to read, they can find out about anything. Wouldn't you like to know that your donation made a difference in one life, perhaps more? Just think of what impact your small donation would have. Lend me your ears or a donation. The choice is yours!
