This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Childhood obesity is reaching tremendous rates and schools need to be a part of teaching children how to be fit and healthy. Finding sports that are fun to play as well as challenge a person's fitness level can be difficult. It is especially difficult when your school cannot afford equipment.

My students are from all different SES backgrounds and are of many different races including: African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, white, and we even have some diverse ethnicity (Jewish students).

They love to play sports and I want to get them the equipment so that we can enjoy lots of different activities. They need to feel good about the equipment they have and that they are cared about. Sometimes, they feel like they aren't cared about when the equipment does not look like other school's equipment.

My Project

Helping children to love sports is one of the challenges of being a physical education teacher. Alongside this, our job is to help students be fit and healthy, teaching them ways to get active. Fighting obesity is a major goal in order to help students not have diabetes, heart conditions, and other issues in the future. Please help us by donating toward our equipment! This will not only help them enjoy sports, but some of these students may be able to be successful in college sports. Many of these students have quite a bit of potential. I want to give them every advantage to succeed.

Getting this equipment is extremely important as our equipment is breaking and we are trying to put it back together with duck-tape.

We do not get much of a budget for basic gym equipment each year so we are really struggling to have the basics. Students look forward to physical education when their equipment is new. Please help us and donate so we can get some equipment!!!
