Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Due to DRASTIC budget cuts our school has lost funding for after school programs, field trips, and school supplies such as notebooks, construction paper, rulers, calculators, writing utensils, etc.
My school is located within a large urban area that has a diverse ethnic population. The majority of our students live at or below the poverty level and as a result we are unable to use traditional methods of fund raising.
For the first time in over 10 years, we have a 6th grade self-contained class in our building. As a result, the overwhelming MAJORITY of the textbooks and workbooks we have in our classroom are just not suitable for my students.
My Project
Thankfully, with the help of Donors Choose, we were able to obtain more suitable instructional supplies. This site has changed my life as a teacher! I cannot fully express enough thanks and appreciation to the wonderful people who contributed to our first project!
More importantly, Donors Choose has changed the lives of my students! I wish everyone could have seen the humongous smiles and tears of happiness roll down their cheeks upon receiving our NEW educational school supplies!
Well, here I am again! Asking for your support, asking for additional supplies … giving my students a voice! Their progress in reading has soared and it has a lot to do with having the best materials to support their learning!
I am requesting At-My-Desk Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension activities because the kids love these products. In addition, I am requesting Daily Writing Prompt Flip Charts, Content Area Writing Prompts, and Word-Of-The-Day Flip Charts.
Let me tell you, my students have SPIRIT, DETERMINATION, and a PASSION for learning.
