Hooray for Homework

My students need notebooks for recording their homework, folders to carry it to and from school, and stickers, to make homework a little more fun.

My Students

Was homework your favorite part of school? It isn't for my students either, but it is important for their learning.

They need a few school supplies to help them do their best on their homework.

All of my students are recent immigrants. They do not arrive at school with colorful, shiny new school supplies. They do, however, appreciate colorful, shiny new school supplies.

My Project

I am requesting a folder and small notebook for each student and a few stickers to help the students have fun personalizing their new school supplies. The folder is for carrying homework to and from school, and the notebook is for recording homework assignments. Currently, most of my students record their homework on scraps of paper and slip papers into anything flat they can find in their backpacks.

Middle school students are just learning to take responsibility for school work on their own.

Having a homework folder and a homework notebook makes it easier for them to keep track of assignments. Students who turn in homework regularly tend to have success in school overall. Having colorful, new personalized school supplies makes homework a little more fun- at least this teacher hopes it will!
