My students need an HP computer more access to computers and the Internet so that we can access the programs we use to learn new skills every day.

My Students

While 1+1=2, 1 (Student) + One (Computer) = Infinity (The amount of information and new learning that can be achieved by the students with more access to the Internet.) With very limited and outdated computers in our classroom, access to our wonderful web-based programs is very difficult.

My students, like most, love using computers and technology to enrich their learning experiences.

When I put them in front of a computer they thrive to achieve, whether it be to solve difficult math problems or to write opinion essays to our favorite television program. They love the immediate response that the technology provides. We are a 3-5 grade level building in a rural district. Because of budget cuts, we will be a 2-5 grade level building next year. This means more students will be sharing the same resources.

My Project

My ultimate goal is to have a 5-computer workstation in my classroom where my students can have more frequent access to the Internet and all of the positive resources it provides. We use a couple of award winning web-based math programs to enrich our curriculum and to allow for much more differentiated instruction. Unfortunately, our access to these programs is limited based on scheduling conflicts and the availability of our computer lab in our building. A mini computer workstation in our room would allow for much more use of our programs which will ultimately better prepare the students for the future by giving them the skills they will need to be successful.

Your generous donation will go a long way towards the start of our 5 computer mini workstation.

In addition to all the wonderful math enrichment it will provide, it will also be used to expand our global communication skills through the use of the built-in web cam. We would love to say thank you in person to each of our donors.
