Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine a class full of eager learners. The children rush in the door each morning excited at the prospect of all school has to offer. My preschool program is made up of at-risk and special education students who delight in school each day. I am a blessed to be able to share their love of learning.

My students come from a low income area of Colorado.

They come from homes without books or parents available to read them. Our preschool is housed in an elementary school building. The make- up of the class is 70% special education students and 30% at-risk.

My Project

Just picture the face of a four year old as they watch a chrysalis open for the first time. I have requested many hands on science activities for my class so I can see them carefully name and sort through animals. I have chosen activities that the children can hear and touch to strengthen the depth of their learning. Many of my special education students need the extra support of being able to hold and look at an object to really understand it.

I work with a very crucial age.

When children are between the ages of 3 and 5 years they are experiencing huge brain development as well as forming their academic personality. Please join me in teaching children that school is a beautiful and engaging place and learning is fun.
