I teach freshmen and senior English in a high-need urban community. More than 75% of our population is on free-and-reduced-lunch.

My students have expressed an interest in Kurt Vonnegut after reading a few stories from a collection of his work. Regrettably, it is nearly impossible to acquire new textbooks due to budget cuts. So it goes.

I am emailing you in an attempt to acquire 80 copies of Vonnegut's masterpiece, "Slaughterhouse-5." This will allow an entire grade level of students to excel academically with a great American novel.

Your help is crucial; without it, I will not be able to engage my students in a classic, timeless, and high-interest text. I thank you for your time and consideration.
