My Students

My students are excited to become better readers this year!

I teach 2nd grade in an urban school.

I teach a diverse group of students from different areas of the city. My students read at different levels but one thing that many of them have in common is the need to improve their reading fluency. They have been tracking their reading progress throughout the school year and these materials will help our students improve even more.

My Project

Students can use these materials independently at a fluency station during reader's workshop. The fluency station, passages, and scripts are at different levels so that each child will feel successful. The cd player will allow students to listen to scripts, poems, and books. They can then practice reading these texts fluently themselves. Students will be able to work on their accuracy, rate, phrasing and expression.

They will learn to read with better phrasing and expression in a fun manner. Your help is greatly appreciated!
