Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"Not that book again!" I hear that phrase muttered all too often in my classroom. Because of a limited supply of books in my classroom library I am forced to reuse the same books over and over again to teach different strategies. I work in a community that is a hard working, low income area in Connecticut. It consists of a diverse population with a variety of needs but there is one common trend among all my students; their love of reading.

As a first year teacher, I don't have all the resources that veteran teachers have, but I'm working on it. I was fortunate enough to have one project of picture books approved through Donors Choose and now I'm looking to expand my classroom library even more.

My students will love being introduced to new picture books instead of revisiting literature they are already familiar with.

With your help, I would like to ban the the words, "not that book again!" from my classroom. Creating an exciting environment full of new and wonderful books is a dream you can make possible.
