My school is very unique. We are focused on providing real vocational skills to students with disabilities. The goal is enable these young disabled adults to obtain employment and be able to contribute to society. Every aspect of our curriculum is focused on making the lives of our students better. In many situations we are our students last hope.

The truth is, most employers would require employees to have reading skills. For our students, learning to read is a major obstacle. Traditional methods do not work. Practice and repetition is must. Often they have been given up on before. Our school has been fortunate enough to obtain a laptop lab and very beneficial reading software. However when all the students are running the software at once it becomes hard to focus with all the noise.

In order for the students to get the most out of the new software, we need to obtain headphones. The benefit of headphones will be tremendous. The headphones would not just benefit our students with reading. We have programs that run math, science, and social studies software too.

At our school, it is known that if a student cannot read, their chances of employment dramatically decrease. Help us help them, please donate.
