Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Inquisitive and active, my Spanish students need to take a virtual tour of the Hispanic world, land of their parents and grandparents. I teach a very diverse and challenging group, kindergarten through fourth grade students from Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia and Chile. My students will thrive experiencing through DVDs the Hispanic world they are unable to visit.

Most of my students are unable to travel to their country of origin, much less to visit other Hispanic countries. Most of them have come to the United States for economic reasons, which makes it difficult for them to travel and experience other cultures in the Latin world.

These DVDs will afford my students the exhilarating experience of traveling through Mexico, Peru, Colombia and the rest of the Spanish speaking countries and learning their culture and enjoying the beauty of the land. My students will be able to talk about their particular countries thus enriching the lives of their friends and family as well as their own.

These wonderful DVDs not only will teach and educate my students but they will also enrich their lives as they grow to become true citizens of the Americas.
