I teach 3rd grade in a small rural town in Southern Nevada. We are an at risk school with a high English Language Learner population.

As many of the students in my class are English Language Learners, I am always looking for more ways to increase reading abilities through technology. This project will allow students to use their visual, auditory and kinesthetic skills to build their language and reading abilities.

My students will need 4 I-pod touches and 2 I-pod nanos. These resources will allow students to have access to and use math and language arts apps, subscribe to educational podcasts, record their readings and listen to them on the itouch, purchase audio books, create podcasts and put their work on the class website. This will also allow students to use Comic Strip App, where students can grab images and add text bubbles to them to make their own stories.

Your donation to this project will ensure that every student in my class has a chance to become a better reader, by using technology to make reading come alive. Your help can make all of the difference!
