"I teach music and chorus to 5th through 8th grade students. My students are from a low-income community.

Currently I rely on the donations of any type of folders that I can get to help my chorus students keep the music they have organized and in good shape. The folders do not match and usually fall apart by the end of the semester. They are also showing a better responsibility in keeping these materials in good condition. My program is growing as I have 75% of my 7th grade choral students changing their schedules to come back to choir in the second semester.

I want to give the students the best choral experience that I can. This entails getting them to feel as though they belong to a group. This, in turn, lets them perform better as a group. To do this, the students need quality choral folders to keep their music in. This will give them confidence to keep borrowed materials in good condition and the responsibility to keep music organized.

You will make it possible for my students to feel like a member of a group. Uniformity in choral programs brings a better sense of group empowerment. Also, teaching responsibility not only plays a part in my class, but is a skill that can be taken out into real-life situations. hide»

My students need 40 choral music folders to keep the music organized and in good shape. details»

Dear David, Jim & Chris, Ceci and Anonymous Donor,

First of all, I just want to say thank you for your generosity. The feelings that you bring when you give selflessly are indescribable. Your donations show that there still is a sense of compassion in the world.
The students were amazed at the folders. They had never seen anything like it before. They took them in their hands with wonder and amazement. As we rehearsed for the first time with the folders, they commented on how easy it was to turn the pages of their music. Afterward, I was glad not to see brand new music lying on the floor!
We then used the folders for our annual spring concert. Several of the parents and others who attended commented on how 'professional' the group looked as they stood on the risers and sang. It brought the group together with a sense of being one group, not a bunch of individuals.
Again, your generosity brings about feelings that are indescribable. Thank you.

With gratitude,
Mrs. S.

Dear David, Jim & Chris, Ceci and Anonymous Donor,

I am so excited! Without your support this would never have been possible. I am glad that there are kind hearts that share in the vision that I have for my students.

The focus of the students will now be on becoming a group and learning to work together as a team. They will also be able to learn the responsibility of taking care of borrowed materials and keeping them in order for others to use in the future.

Again, I want to express my dearest and deepest gratitude for your generosity.

With gratitude,
Mrs. S.
