I teach developmental/special education preschool in a high-needs, low socioeconomic neighborhood. My students' disabilities range from mild cognitive delays to severe autism.

My classroom is a brand new addition to the school. Since our school has a limited budget, I have been purchasing consumable and nonconsumable items out of pocket. I love my job and don't want my students to suffer because of limited resources. I strive to give my preschool students the same opportunities as other preschool students despite their disabilities.

Our classroom is in desperate need of a classroom library. With the holiday approaching, I am requesting several holiday books that coincide with our art projects. I am requesting books on Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the Gingerbread. If I don't receive these items in a timely manner, then I hope to incorporate them into next year's instruction.

Your donation will provide my students with the opportunity to hear rich literature in connection with our daily art projects and thematic learning. Your donation will make it possible for my students to explore books during reading time.
