I have requested tape recorders and head sets. Our high poverty kids need to learn to read! We need tape recorders and head sets. I am a general education teacher for second grade students. My school is located in a severely low socio-economic area and our students come to us with many basic needs on top of their educational needs.

The population we serve are living in generational poverty. Many will not overcome poverty because they will not learn to read. Education is not a priority in these kids' homes.

The first step to help end the cycle of generational poverty for our students is teaching them to read! Our students need this essential tool to be successful through high school and in the work force.

You can make it possible for my low-income students to receive the reading support they need to become literate by contributing tape recorders and head sets. These tape recorders and head set will be used daily to improve reading fluency.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
