These materials have made a remarkable difference for my students by supporting their independence, engagement, and access to learning.\r\n\r\nThe Velcro has helped us create hands-on task boxes and visual supports that keep students organized and successful during independent work time. The adaptive switch items have opened new opportunities for communication and participation, allowing students with limited motor abilities to engage meaningfully with classroom activities. Having the right batteries on hand ensures that these essential tools remain functional and ready to use at all times.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students are more confident, motivated, and able to interact with their learning environment in ways that fit their individual needs. Your contribution has truly empowered them to reach new levels of growth and independence.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your thoughtful support—it has made a lasting impact on our classroom and the students we serve every day.","fullyFundedDate":1746622827682,"projectUrl":"project/adaptive-technology-to-enhance-little-mi/9206456/","projectTitle":"Adaptive Technology to Enhance Little Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dale","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4177006"},{"teacherId":8072825,"projectId":9323213,"letterContent":"I am very thankful for the love and support from donors like you who are spreading kindness and support to educators. Switching grade levels is a very exciting opportunity. There is so much that goes into moving rooms and filling a different type of classroom than what I have be doing for the last couple of years. It all couldn't be done like this without you!\r\n\r\nThe materials in this project are to help me set up a new classroom with a new theme going into a grade level. I am excited to have a fun classroom with a sports theme in my class. The adaptive switches, in particular, have allowed my students with physical or motor limitations to participate in activities they might otherwise struggle with. It's been amazing to see them actively involved, whether it's in a game or a simple classroom task, which helps them feel more independent and included.\r\n\r\nThe spinning dice have been great for teaching decision-making and turn-taking. It's a fun way to show my students that not everything in life is predictable, and they need to be flexible when things don't go according to plan. I've seen them become more comfortable with uncertainty and better at handling situations where they need to make quick decisions.\r\n\r\nI've also noticed a positive impact on their social skills. The spinning dice and switches are often used in group activities, which helps my students practice cooperation, teamwork, and communication with each other. It's a fun way for them to interact and build friendships, which are essential life skills.\r\n\r\nOverall, these tools have made a big difference in my classroom, and it's been incredibly rewarding to see my students grow in their independence and confidence. In these grade levels we work with chromebooks and other technology such as tablets and robots all year long. We build a foundation of knowledge with these devices that will help them grow and be up to par with what will be required of them to do as they get older and into the higher grade levels. We work with creating digital documents such as Word documents, Slides and Excel sheets. They work in typing units that will help them in all fields on a computer. Our final unit is coding where they get a foundational concept of block coding that will lead into java script and text coding in the later years. \r\n\r\nThe materials requested in this project were for the festive projects that they work to create during the holiday months. We use a variety of disposable materials that are essential to do some creative building projects. With these materials we were able to have new and plentiful materials for every student of the school. It helped provide new materials that replaced old and unusable materials. The technology materials helped provide a new charging station that is more user friendly for classroom management of the materials. \r\n\r\nThe classroom helpers of each class and the leadership team at my school have thoroughly enjoyed the new materials because it has helped with creating classroom jobs and responsibilities that are easier accessible for students to do.
