Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach at a Title I school in Nevada. At my school we believe that every child deserves the best education we can provide them.

As our budget gets cut and we tighten our schools purse strings we have limited funds to replace or fix existing machines. Unfortunately, our laminating machine has broken down. Our school is unable to replace or fix this machine. The laminating machine is an essential part of our school. We as teachers try to stretch every dollar and make our material for years and years. Laminating almost the material we use and our students ensures that we can use our material over and over again. Without laminating machine we are unable to reuse many materials and we end up spending more than we can afford to.

We need a new laminating machine. The one that I chose is appropriate for an educational setting. This much needed laminating machine will once again enable teachers to laminate material for our students to use. This material is used centers; used in small groups; used in whole groups; and at times sent home with students. Many of the activities that we make for our student to use centers we laminate to ensure durability and the best center experience for every child. This laminating machine will guarantee that once again we can create many more activities that can be laminated and reused over and over again.

Your help will ensure that the students at my school will be provided with durable educational material that is teacher created and appropriate for our students. Student's will be comfortable doing hands-on centers; whole group activities; and small activities with material that they will ruin by touching or bending.
